Outfit of the Week

Hello beautiful people of the world!

I hope you're doing wonderful and that you are managing to stay cooooool if your weather is anything like mine here in East, TN right meow! (aka Satan's living room - but I don't mind because summer is my fave. <3)

That being said, when I go out with my friends or out for a date night in the summer, I don't like to be constricted with tight-fitting, thick material clothes! (Does anyone, really..?)

I'm comin' at'cha today with one of my absolute FAVE outfit looks that we currently have in the Boutique! It totally has that boho chic vibe; if that's what you like to go for, this will be right up your alley!

Read on and I will outfit you from

head

to

toe.

First up, we have these earrings by Seeds Jewelry. This was a company that we met at the Atlanta Apparel Market, and I'm so glad that we ran into them. They create hand-made, unique pieces that scream boho, but one of my favorite things about them is that they create statement pieces as well as simple pieces - hello, layering! Bonus points: they are SO kind. We have the earrings in three different colors, and you can find them here.

One of my favorite things lately has been long, beaded necklaces. I feel like they're such a wonderful statement piece on their own OR perfect for layering other pieces with them! I like to do a little of both, but for this look, I wore the necklace on its own because I wanted the graphic on my tee to be able to stand out. This necklace is called the Power in Me Necklace; it has the perfect amount of sparkle and iridescence, and you can find it here!

I have a TON of t-shirts, but I never wear them. Anyone else have that one drawer (or 3) that is your t-shirt drawer, packed to the brim!?  Since I've noticed this is a problem for me lately, I love the fact that you can totally transform a t-shirt look from casual to dressy in a matter of seconds by simply adding some cute bottoms (such as a mini or maxi skirt, overalls, high-waisted bell bottoms, etc.), slapping on some cute jewelry, and tying your tee into a knot. It totally gives a more put-together look that LOOKS like it required more effort...all while you're still wearing a comfy t-shirt. Magic. ;) That being said, I did just that with this adorable New Mercies Every Morning Tee, which you can get here. The material on this one is so light and soft - perfect for a summer day!

Now onto my favorite part of this outfit: the Flower Child Skirt, which is linked here. A statement piece. The piece that catches eyes and turns heads and makes you feel like you're the boho queen. I love many things about this skirt, from comfort to looks, but I love the embroidered designs all over the front the most! If you were to ask me how I'd define my style, I'd say I like my outfit to have depth. I like to have multiple statement pieces that all come together to tell the story of how I feel. This skirt helps to do that for me, from the embroidered details, to the variety of colors, to the pom-pom trim on the bottom - I love it all.

There are two things I love: tie dye and lace. (Okay, I love more things, but I seem to always be drawn to these patterns in stores.) Therefore, last but not least, I'd like to say a special thank-you to whomever created kimonos/dusters because I basically feel that my outfit isn't complete if I'm not wearing one these days! I love our Take Me There Ivory Lace Kimono (linked here) because it's so. dang. versatile. (Also, who doesn't love some floral ivory lace!?) I can pair it with a basic top, some jewelry, jeans, and wedges and have an adorable comfy/casual look or pair it with something like this OOTW and have a dressy/casual outfit. I think that's the beauty of kimonos and dusters - you can wear them how you want, with whatever you want, and they add depth to nearly any outfit.

If you stuck around till the end, thank you so much for reading! I hope this post has inspired you to take a leap and spice up those t-shirts, pair them with something unusual, and throw on a kimono as the cherry on top!

Peace Out, girlscouts. Be back soon! :D
